short summary of our project
In a world where technology is constantly expanding and changing, we would like our students to have every opportunity to experience these changes first hand.
We are crowd funding in order to purchase a 3D printer for our school. The ability to work with 3D shapes will give our students real world experiences. Students will see their ideas and designs come to life! 3D models will help in many subject areas not just technology - Art and Design, Mathematics and Science will all benefit from this type of technology.
Who are we?
Lord Williams’s School is a thriving and popular comprehensive school serving the Thame community and its surrounding rural area. We are a split-site school, with Years 7 – 9 on the Lower School site at Towersey Road and Years 10 – 13 on the Upper School site at Oxford Road. We pay particular attention to each individual student by promoting their personal, social and educational development to enable all to achieve at the highest level possible. As a result of our continuing success, Lord Williams’s School is consistently oversubscribed.
We would like to offer our students the opportunity to experience a piece of technology that many children their age will probably never see in action. The possibilities with 3D printing are limitless; from a small personal item, to a complete interactive model, students would have the opportunity to take the ideas and projects they have developed to another level.
will the money go?
The minimum amount will cover the entire cost of a WhitBox 3D printer. If the project reaches its target goal, the extra funding will go towards buying more supplies for the 3D printer. With increased funding, we will be able to purchase more than one 3D printer so that student's will have more accessibility to the equipment.
