Who are we?
We are $60 Scholarships, a social enterprise created by a group of students at Clemson University. Our main goal is to raise money for less fortunate children around the globe so that they may attend school, receive an education, and make a better life for themselves. We are starting with children in Belize, and in order for us to spread awareness for this cause, we will be traveling to Belize in March of 2013 in order to create a documentary.
That’s where you come in!
We are asking for funding that will enable us to pay for lodging near the Burial
Grounds, where we will be interacting with the students and families, collecting material for the documentary.
The goals we’ve met so far:
-
Raised enough money to send 30 children in Belize to school next year.
-
Raised enough money to travel to and from Belize in March.
-
Obtained the equipment necessary for filming the documentary.
How can you help?
We have raised all of the necessary funds to cover travel expenses with the exception of lodging. We will leave for Belize on March 17th and return on the 24th. During our time there, we will meet with children, families, and staff of Unity Christian School, learn their lifestyles, and film the entire week we’re there. In order for us to have a place to stay while we are in Belize, we must raise $1,608 (4 room nights, 3 rooms at $134 per room per night).
All donations will be used to pay for lodging for the week in Belize, and any extra will go towards sending more children to school.
Thank you for helping us through this amazing journey!
