Loughborough Textiles Degree Show 2014

We are...

...the soon-to-be Textiles graduates of Loughborough University 2014. Flair is our final exhibition: the polished, professional product of the blood, sweat and tears (you have no idea!!) spent behind the scenes over the last three years.

Most universities host a degree show for finalists and encourage their students to organise it, why? Because it's a great idea! It's the finish line for our time in Loughborough (sporting reference, check); a chance to show family, friends, potential employers and industry professionals what we've really been doing at university. And, more importantly, showcasing our work to the world in the hope that we can improve our employment prospects. We'll be upfront with that!

We think we've got a bit of creative flair. Come and see for yourself on 6th-14th June 2014 at Loughborough University School of the Arts.

Now, why do we want your money?

Non-arty types may be unaware, but art and design degrees are EXPENSIVE! Tuition fees aside, if we want to make something awesome, it's pretty likely material costs will rise exponentially with our ambition - especially when making large-scale pieces to show in an exhibition. There's only so much that parents and part-time jobs can provide, and most of us don't have the luxury of bottomless money bags (we're switched on you know - we know the overdraft doesn't count!).

Here's a handy pie chart to show you what we're spending. The main bulk of our money will be spent on printing exhibition catalogues, which feature photos of the work (and attractive face) of every student exhibiting in the show. These will be available at the show itself and also at New Designers (a leading national graduate design exhibition in September) as a good reminder of who we are and how to contact us.

The other major cost is our website. Every year it is updated to include the latest graduate work, it's well worth a look! To see what we mean, check out some of our predecessors here:

So what will you get for your money?

Check out the sidebar that way >>> for more info, but here's a little taster of what's on offer if you give us a (fair) few pennies...

(Images show student designed and made greetings cards, handmade bracelets and canvas bag. Designs may vary.)
Reminder for anyone sponsoring us from overseas, please add the 'International Postage' bundle to whichever reward you choose valuing between £20 and £100. We're afraid postage costs are a tad too high for us without a little extra help!

Strapped for cash but keen to help?

Sharing is caring! Please share the link to our project on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram... we're so grateful for any support.

Thanks for reading down this far, you're a trooper. We're rather stuck without you, so we all (see below) just want to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
