Developing country's delegate hopes for fund to speak at GLF in Paris

Get thailand represented in paris, GLF/UNFCCC COP21

Hi friends, family, colleagues and anyone else kindly taking the time to read this,
Some of you may have heard from me already, I have recently been selected as one of the 50 youth innovators from hundreds of applicants around the world for Global Landscapes Forum 2015 on 5th-6th December; also the only delegate from Thailand.  The Forum itself is the largest, most influential event sidelining the highly anticipated UNFCCC (COP21) in Paris, France this year. Here, thousands of negotiators, world leaders, business leaders and policymakers in agriculture, forestry and development are brought together to seek for combined solutions to complex land use challenges.

This is a great opportunity for youths’ voices to be heard loud and clear on a global platform. Solutions generated will be pitched to a high-level expert panel, consisting of prominent individuals in the field of sustainability, environment and forestry. As a point of reference, last year’s panel was made up of World Bank’s representatives, Ministers of Environment, an international research director, and a multi-national corporation. Why should we support you?

After discovering that emptying my saving account and doubling my working hours alone will never suffice, I would like to ask for your generosity and help. I am hoping to raise at least half of what is required to get me there. The table of budget above is provided within the support letter by the organising committee, which also vouched for my participation. You can view it here. The table can be found on page 2. If you would like to contact the Global Landscapes Forum about me, please email Ms. Michelle Kovacevic at M.Kovacevi@cgiar.org.

This is the best opportunity for Thailand to be represented in an international environmental forum, one that allows citizens from a developing country to speak up to the world about our issues, circumstances and struggles.

I have always been passionate about development: environmentally, socially and economically. I have volunteered for for those in needs in Thailand as a teacher, as an interpreter for communities wishing to speak up, and a caretaker of those without homes. I had two unpaid internships, both dealing directly with project management for sustainable development. My degrees are both in Environmental Science, and Development.Throughout these years, my goal remains the same: to improve quality of lives for vulnerable individuals. This is a massive step for me, and I will be deeply grateful for your support.
