MRes degree fees, Arts and Cultural Research that can change my personal and professional life!

A short summary of your projects

In September last year I started this amazing degree MRes Arts and Cultural Research at University go Brighton. I have the ambition to work as a researcher and this degree is a big step towards my dream! I need to pay for the fees and material to help me conduct the research project which is over my reach at the moment.

The project investigates the role of photographic images in relation to English idioms that are often too difficult to understand by non-native English speakers which creates a barrier of cross-cultural communication. Moving to the UK 10 years ago and starting everything from basics wasn't easy (yes, I was a cleaner too :) ). It proved though that ambition and hard work and meeting kind people on the way may change a lot for the better! I want this project to not only fulfil my career dreams but also I want to contribute to the research around Art, Design and Cultural studies as it is art that kept me going all this time!

Who am I?

I am an enthusiastic designer, artist and educator who migrated from a small town in  Poland around 10 years ago. Since then I have completed a degree in interior design and gained a great experience in higher education as a spatial design lecturer.

My interdisciplinary art and design interest though does not stop me learning! The only barrier sometimes becomes funds to fulfil the goals set.

Where will the money go?

For my remaining fees: £4000 ( I already paid £2000 from a part time job)

Travel expenses for the commute from London to Brighton around once a week for 32 weeks a year: £385

Photographic equipment (films, paper, darkroom equipment and exhibition space rental): £700

If I manage to raise more funds I would like to curate an exhibition and publish some of the project fundings!

I would give updates on my project on monthly basics on my blog www.Ikilledtwobirds.blogspot.co.uk and FB page
