What is #POLLYNYFA?

  • My name is Polly Taylor, a Theatre and Performance graduate from Hertfordshire (Hemel Hempstead).

  • I have been offered a place to study Screenwriting at the New York Film Academy, but I can't afford the full tuition and living costs.

  • Even with me working 2 jobs full time and savings I still don't have enough.

  • If I can't raise enough money to fund this year I will have to miss this opportunity.

Where will the money go?

I am trying to raise a total of £10,000 in under a month, this money will help fund my tuition fees and living costs over the next year.
  • The total cost of this year is £27,083 
  • With my personal savings and money from friends and family I have £12,000 so far.
  • I still need £15,000, which is why I need you.
  • I plan to continue saving my wages up until I go in January

Why Screenwriting?

Screenwriting at the New York Film Academy is an intensive course that from day one pushes students into realising their potential as writers. Over the course of the year students create 2 full feature-length screenplays and 1 television series.

  • Before applying for this course I looked at hundreds of different playwriting/screenwriting courses at universities and theatre/film schools.

  • This is the only course I looked at and thought 'Wow, I have to do this'

  • The opportunities this course offers are like no other.

  • Excellent campus in one of the most inspiring cities in the world, New York.

  • World class facilities.

  • Incredible guest lecturers such as; Steven Spielberg, Jonah Hill and Ben Stiller.

  • One of a kind curriculum.

  • These are just some of the reasons I would love to study here.

As someone that has always been involved with the arts and media, this really is the perfect course for me. The great thing about this course is that it's not a 'write an essay about a film you would like to write' type of a course, it's a 'write a film' course. I will be writing films, tv pilots and anything else I can. 

I am going to be writing the next generation of films, whether it be comedy, rom-com, action or drama. If you are a film lover, movie buff or just enjoy watching tv then your donation will directly be helping me write the stuff you wanna see.
