It's just over a month now until my project's completion date, so I'll be stepping up my efforts to spread the word and raise as much as I can before the end!
I was recently awarded first prize in the annual creative writing competition held by the Bubble, an online newspaper at Durham University. They'll be putting my entry online soon, so I hope to share it on here before long.
I've also been continuing to post Shakespearean thank-yous to my very generous supporters on Facebook, and hope to have some more t-shirt pics to share soon too!
Tune in to BBC Radio Oxford tomorrow morning at 11.30 to hear me talking to Kat Orman about my campaign, and the importance of reading and writing. I'll also be reading one of my poems from the present day, and a slightly more amateur poem from when I appeared on the show at the tender age of nine!
My first t-shirt has made it half way across the world to California! Here's Geoffrey wearing it looking out across the deck. The perfect fit!
I'm very excited that today I featured in the Oxford Mail (in print and online) in an article about my fundraising. The extra publicity has led to one incredibly generous donor pledging and doubling my total from yesterday, increasing my total to 6%. I'll be getting to work on the rewards right away!
Today I'm very thankful to have had even more support from my friends at University. I'm now up to 3%!
I posted these quotations on Facebook to say thank you. I've been entirely overwhelmed by the support from friends over the last few days. These quotations feel like very small gestures in comparison to their enormous kindness.
Today I have a lot of people to say thank you to! Here are the Shakespeare quotes that I've been posting on social media today. It's a good job that Shakespeare's characters say thank you a lot, or I'd soon be running out of lines to use!
So many of my friends from University have shown their support to me today by pledging, pushing me over the 2% mark! I can't say thank you enough!
This weekend I was out and about selling Mother's Day cards in return for a £2 donation to my page, which was very effective and helped to push me over £100!
This achievement is also thanks to one of my best friends who donated, and received this Shakespeare quote in return. I'll also be making her a postcard with the history of her name.
I was so grateful this morning to wake up to another donation from another of my friends from University!
This is the thank-you quotation that I posted on Facebook for her this morning. I drew it on a yellow background because she is such a warm and sunny person that it seemed wholly appropriate!
I'm so happy to have had another donation today from a very good friend from University, who was the first ever person to wear my origami swan earrings when I gave them to her as a birthday present in 2011.
I posted this thank you quotation for her on Facebook, and will be getting to work on her thank-you postcard tomorrow.
Today I finished the first t-shirt and postcard from my set of rewards, on the name Geoffrey, which means 'divine peace' in French. Geoffrey was a great name to explore, particularly due to the literary link with Geoffrey Chaucer.
You can find out more about your name by donating to me and claiming a postcard or t-shirt!
I'm very grateful to have had my first contribution over the weekend! I posted this hand drawn message from Shakespeare's Henry VI Part III on Facebook to say thank you. My sponsor gave enough to also get a t-shirt and postcard, which I will be making this week - more photos to follow!
