Help us raise the cash to get our sports teams a mascot!
I'm hoping to raise £500 to do an amazing thing for Team UWE; I'm hoping to get us a mascot to support us at our games and competitions! The mascot will be available to support all our UWE Sports teams and cheer us on at Varsity. This is a great way to leave your Team UWE Legacy!
I am a third year student from UWE Comets Cheerleading and now I'm in my final year, I want to give something back to the team. I'm not part of the committee, so this is a completely separate, member-led initiative.
I decided to fundraise to get us a mascot initially because at our national competitions, many of our competitors have a mascot to cheer them on already. I thought it would bring us extra support and it was be a fun project to be involved in. Since then, I've thought about how the mascot would be great for all of our sports teams, especially at Varsity (University of West of England vs University of Bristol) as the extra support always seems to provide a push for the win!
It's really important to me to raise the money because I've been a committed member of UWE sports throughout my time at university, and it would be fantastic to know I've left something behind for future teams. I think future teams would really benefit from having a mascot at their sidelines!
Anyone and everyone would be welcome to donate to this project, alongside the fundraising that is already taking place. By giving money, you will be contributing towards history being made in sports at UWE!
The money will all be put into the production of the mascot. If we manage to hit our full target, we will also be able to afford a carry bag for him! Anything extra that is raised will all be put into the Team UWE Sports pot to aid future projects like this one!
