Aberdeen Student show is an Aberdonian Institution in its 93rd year. Over the years it has raised thousands of pounds for charities in Aberdeen and the Shire, with last year's total coming in at over £67,000. We hope that with your help we can beat that this year.
Student Show forms a major part of the annual Aberdeen University Student Association (AUSA) Charities Campaign. It is a long-standing tradition in the North East of Scotland with our first show taking place in 1921! 2014 will mark our 93rd year when we take to the stage of His Majesty’s Theatre.
Over the years, Student Show has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for local charities and the last two year’s productions, Mary Torphins and Spital Shop of Horrors raised over a staggering £125,000 between them!
Each show is created and performed by students from Aberdeen College, Robert Gordon’s University and The University of Aberdeen with the help of a talented production team. The show often parodies well-known titles from the world of film, theatre and literature and is the only show of its kind in the UK. There is strong focus on musical comedy and this proves popular with our large, often sold-out audiences!
This year's show is a tasty treat for the senses - "Wullie Wonkie and the Fine Piece Factory" and runs in HMT, Aberdeen, from the 23-26 April 2014.
The script is ready and is looking hillarious.
The fantastic, toe-tapping songs have been chosen.
The cast have been auditioned and picked.
All we need now is some money to make this intense 4 week rehearsal period worth while and to give as much money as we possibly can to charity.
