Aiming for increased understanding and support for young people with Autism

Who are you?

  • My name is Charlotte Mountford. I am a specialist teacher for children with social communication difficulties as well as a wife and mother of three young boys.

My project

  • I have a place on a part time distance learning Masters of Education course through Birmingham University in Autism (children) and I would need some support to achieve the final amount needed to pay for my fees for the first year

Your story

  • At the beginning of 2014 I made a new years resolution to apply for a place on this Masters course and 'see what happened'.

  • Well, I only went and got a place! This is fantastic but was financially unplanned for hence the need for a little support.

  • Having worked with young people with autism for 10 years and recognise the vital importance of the right support and training for them, their familes and educational settings as well as wider communities in order to ensure that they are happy, confident, valued, understood and able to achieve their full potential.

Where will the money go?

  • Any funding I recieve will go directly to pay my university tuition fees

  • If I acheive the full target this will allow me to use a small amount towards reading materials for the course and for travel to and from the residential weekends that the course entails.

  • £500 will go directly towards my course fees

  • Once my course begins I will give termly updates to any donors.

Rewards

  • Any donors will receive a personal thank you message from myself

  • Any donor giving £15 or more will recieve an autism awareness thank you gift.
