An update from the blog!

Did you know that in my language 'soon' means '5 months'? So, I actually am not late with this update at all...

Okay, I know you're not here for me and my cute excuses, so I'm going to cut it short. After thinking long and hard about the best way to keep y'all updated on what I'm doing (PhD related & otherwise), I've come to the conclusion it's much easier if you follow my personal Facebook profile.

Now on to the good bits!

I received offers from Cambridge & Penn State University for my PhD and have decided to go to Penn State and work with Nina Jablonski. Visa is on lock now and I am very excited to be moving to the States in August - this is really happening now!

Once I start, I will have much more hair/research-related things to post, so you can expect that, but meanwhile it will be a little quiet on that front, which is why I invite those of you who are interested in more frequent updates to follow my personal profile, as opposed to the Human Hair Diversity FB page.

As for the manuscript, I have picked it up again, but it will need some intense polishing up which will happen once I am back from India in June.

On that note, since I am done with my job, I will be travelling around India for these next few weeks, I will be taking pictures of all the amazing places and people I encounter, so if you're into that kinda thing, I'll be posting on FacebookTwitterInstagram, & Tumblr.

See you around!

Do my eyebrows convey a sense of urgency? I hope so! Well, anyway, we only got three days left, folks! So let's give it that last push and spread the word to as many people as possible. All help is highly appreciated, whether this means liking the Facebook Page, Tweeting about the project, Tumbling or sponsoring - it's all really helpful! If you're keen on the project and know someone or a group of people who might be interested in the evolution of hair, please do send them my way!

And, have any of you noticed that I'm lowkey cosplaying my chibi - do you see the resemblance? :D

And thanks again guys, I can't tell you how friggin happy I am that you took the time to help me - expect long thank you messages soon!

Video Update - follow the link!

We've got the application fees, now let's get this as much funding as we can for this project and show the committees that people really want answers on the evolution of human hair diversity! ‪#‎HairEvolutionPhD‬

Because of all the interest in this research, I've decided to now make all sponsors part of the secret Facebook group where you'll get exclusive progress reports on ongoing research, upcoming publications and collaborations with scientists around the world. Once the program starts, sponsors in the group will also get access to essays and articles I write as well as notes from conferences I attend.

People who've donated £25 or more will now additionally receive a copy of my research proposal and a write-up of my dissertation results months before anyone gets to see them

Those who've earned their shout out on Twitter can of course also request it be on Tumblr or Facebook ;)

Expect more updates and funny pics - let's keep this up!
