An interesting article on Game Transfer Phenomena (GTP).

Game Transfer Phenomena (GTP)

Personally, I have experienced similar phenomena after playing long stints on a particular game, having dreams about GTA or spotting the best buildings to climb in London after a weekend on Assassin's Creed.

What causes the phenomena? Is it due to overexposure to a game? Do some games have a greater impact on creating this kind of phenomena?

What are your thoughts? Have you experienced GTP?

Apologies, I did not include the link on the previous update.

Hi Everyone,

In regards to my research, I will be focusing on gaming psychology.

With gaming being one of the largest industries in the world, reaching around 90% of children in the US alone, and the reach of gaming increasing each year, the influence of gaming and the moderating nature of individual characteristics on this relationship become even more important.

As an avid gamer with an interest in psychology. I've spent the last 6 months studying my Masters in order to investigate this relationship in more detail.

As the year progresses I am quickly approaching the final hurdles, and find myself needing help to fund my final.few months, which is why I have turned to hubbub. Any extra funding I can raise will help me to complete my studies and allow me to further research the effect of individual characteristics on the relationships between game-type (cooperative vs competitive) and behavioural outcomes (aggressive or helping behaviour), which sounds complex but should be fun!

If you have any questions, send me a message, and I will try to answer as much as I can!
