The Outreaching International Study Trip
The International Study trip is an important part of the Outreaching Honors Program at Tilburg University. It allows the students to gain more international experience in a number of ways. During the study trip, we will visit various companies and organizations in Hong Kong. Our own development is not the only thing we think about, though. One of the core values of the Outreaching Program is to give back to society. This is why we will also be helping out at the local charity, the Crossroads Foundation in Hong Kong.
Who are we?
We are 47 excellent students from various disciplines (from Liberal Arts and Sciences to Econometrics and Human Resource Studies). We are ambitious young leaders who want to contribute to society in a meaningful way. The Outreaching Honors Program offers us the space and the opportunities to develop ourselves on an academic, professional and personal level.
The Outreaching Honors Program has three pillars that define our core values:
1. Apply scientific knowledge to real-life issues.
2. Acquire international experience.
3. Give back to society.
Our story
The study trip to Hong Kong is an amazing opportunity for all of us to further develop ourselves as leaders of the future. However, we do realise that we are in a very lucky position being university students in a country like The Netherlands. We want to support people who haven't gotten all the chances that we sometimes take for granted. Next to offering a helping hand, we would like to raise money for the Crossroads Foundation in Hong Kong.
Where will the money go?
Every single euro that we get will be donated to the Crossroads Foundation in Hong Kong.
Rewards
We are very grateful to everyone who wants to help us. We are organizing a get-together for our students and sponsors, so that we can thank you all personally. Of course we will have drinks and snacks, but we are also very eager to share our stories with you! There will be a presentation of our time in Hong Kong, and for those who cannot join us (sponsors from outside The Netherlands, or just anyone who can't make it), we will publish the presentation with the pictures online.
