Happy Sunday All,

Just to let you know I completed Run to the Beat's 10k race today! It was challenging but overall I had a ball!

I'm running the 10k race, Run to the Beat, in Wembley Park tomorrow to raise money for my PhD (I wonder what Jeremy Corbyn would have to say on the matter?).

I won't be setting up designated space as mentioned as I'll have to leave super-early from South London to do so. But if anyone would like to come along to meet me at the finish, I hope to complete the race at 12 noon and the race finish is at First Way, Wembley HA9 0JD.

Thanks for everything!

Miranda

Since beginning this project there have been a couple of common questions from supporters:

1. Do people lose their money if you don't make your target?

No. Pledges aren’t actually processed until after the end of the project.

2. Woah - is your minimum target £19,000?

Actually it was £4,052 which has been met and surpassed (thank you!). This figure is one year’s tuition fees, which means I will definitely begin my Sociology PhD at Goldsmiths later this month *does happy dance* However raising £19,000 will ensure my tuition fees are covered for the 3 years of the course and help with my living costs for the 1st year, which will allow me to focus on my studies.

Hope this helps. Thanks so much again for your support!

Hi everyone!

I'm so excited to have passed my minimum target and the project is nearing 50 sponsors which is amazing! The support of each and everyone of you means so much.

The project culminates on 13th September when, as previously mentioned, I will be participating in a half-marathon in Wembley in an effort to raise more funds. I have arranged a designated cheering space for Single Mum Does PhD supporters at the event, Run To The Beat, and it would be wonderful to see some of you down there at the finishing line at to mark the end of this journey. Exact details TBC very soon!
Please continue to Tweet, Facebook and share information about the campaign with friends and family. I know I will make my target, with your support.
Thanks so much again,
Miranda

Hi there amazing people!

The project is coming along nicely - just under £600 shy of my minimum! - and the support I am receiving is extremely heartening.

I am working away behind the scenes, trying write to everyone I can think of for help while balancing work on my master's dissertation, spending time with my son who is on his school holidays and training for my 10k run on the 13th September!

It is really important to me that this project is successful, not just for my benefit but also to demonstrate that with creativity, resourcefulness, grit and the support of ordinary people, obstacles needn't hinder anyone from achieving their goals!

Another a bit of news - Single Mum Does PhD is featured in the latest edition of the Voice Newspaper!

Today is the final day it is available, so if you miss it you can read a condensed version of the article here http://tinyurl.com/nflg9gt

Please continue to share this information with your family and friends and thanks so much again for all your support!

Dear sponsors and supporters,

The project has got off to a great start! The fund hit 10% of the target a couple of days ago which is very exciting - thank you so much for your generosity and well wishes! A couple bits of news. First, the campaign has been covered in today's South London Press! Second, I've signed up to run a 10K marathon Run to the Beat in Wembley on 13th September to raise funds towards the target. I'm thinking it would be wonderful to meet some supporters there at the finish! More on this soon...

Thanks again for your support, it means a lot!
