To fund public bike facilities for students, staff and the local community

The Southampton University Road Cycling CLUB

We are Southampton University Road Cycling Club and we are here to cater for all your cycling needs.

We are not just a club, we are a community, bought together by a passion for cycling and ready to have fun, get fit and make friends.

Our Project

We are raising funds to install a bike maintenance stand with tools and public pump at the University of Southampton's Highfield campus to encourage staff, fellow students and other members of the public to maintain their bikes with convenient place on campus to do so. We will post weekly updates throughout the campaign to keep you updated as to where the project is so keep an eye on our social media pages and our website for more information.

A healthy bike for all

1 in 10 people from Southampton University regularly cycles to the University for work or study.

The project will be a direct benefit to over 3,000 staff and students that cycle to university, with a larger potential reach to residents of the Highfield area, Bassett and Portswood areas of Southampton who cycle through the area.

The project will also enhance the Student Union Ethics and Environment activities by increasing awareness of sustainability through campaigning that will take place as part of this project.

Where will the money go?

Take a look for yourself! The University's National Oceanography Centre already has a bike stand and public pump (pictured below) and we're aiming to raise enough money to fund the same facilities for the Highfield campus! And if we raise the full amount the University's Annual Giving Programme, which receives donations for student led projects through its Student Experience Fund, will match the full amount so that we can have a second bike stand and a pump at the new Boulderwood Campus.
