The End!

Our first performance was a success and we are now looking forward to the next show at the Falmouth Livedart Festival later in June.

Working with Emily was a great experience for us, and something that will set us up for future professional work.Thank you so much to everyone who supported us, it means so much!

Countdown...

Our performance is now only four days away, and we are getting very excited. We've had a succesful tech run with our new lighting designer Paul Joines, with the addition of some interesting lighting techniques to bring the piece to life.

Week 2...

A productive week for Uglybird. We have finished our intensive creative period with Emily, and we now have a full piece! What remains now is rehearsal, rehearsal, rehearsal to really push it up to performance standard, get stuck into the movement and find that vital performance presence. 

We have been busy making a company website, behind the scenes videos and interviews which will go online very soon. 

We'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who has already supported us. We're excited to have reached our minimum target, and looking forward to raising even more! 

Week 1

We've just completed our first week of rehearsals with our choreographer, the fantastic Emily Dobson of Freefall Dance. She's a freelance artist based in Cornwall who we've had the pleasure of taking class with over the past three years. Working intensively with her has been great, and a challenge! The piece is taking shape, with fast paced sequences alongside more thoughtful and delicate moments. 

The above photo gives a sneaky peek at our costumes and we also now have a name for the piece - 'Don't trust the ground'. 

The date of our first performance (the 28th of May) is getting closer and closer, lots of work to be done in the meantime....
