Help Naomi pay for materials during her masters at Glasgow School of Art

Friends, Family, And all you lovely strangers!...

I am an artist and I have recently been accepted to GSA to do a masters in painting - an incredibly sought after placement and a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. I want to grab the opportunity with both hands. The GSA offers world class technological/critical support and facilities that can extend my practice in ways I could never do on my own. http://www.gsa.ac.uk/ Unfortunately with no personal savings and my close family recovering from the loss of our home through a tragic fire last year, I am having to face the possibility of turning down the offer...

I am applying for a scholarship and have had a benefactor offer to help with living costs but I just need a wee bit more to pay for materials and travel.

Why do I need your money??

Materials are expensive, my ideas are ambitious and I plan to create large scale works. I will need enough money to sustain me over the course of the year e.g. brushes/canvasses/stretches/oil paints/water colours/water colour paper/oil painting paper/drawing materials such as conte/charcoal and much more.

For funding individual projects: I intend to travel into the Scottish landscape to research, paint and draw.

The course also has a residency at Dumphries House in the South of Scotland that I will need funding to attend.

Come and see my work. I am making an exhibition on the 25th-31th August at my tiny home studio in Stoke Newington:

Myself and my twin, Sacha Pratt, will be showing work from the last two years and hoping to sell drawings and paintings to help raise money.

The Long Term Plan:

I am passionate about changing the way people percieve and are taught arts in the future. My long term plan is to be a practicing artist with a studio. Whilst using this as a base for my own work I also would like this to be a place which reaches out to children and adults in my community.

Are you inspired to spread the word? Please share my pitch by email/facebook/twitter, it could massively improve my chances of reaching my targets:

Click the 'I want to help' button above if you're happy to help share my project.

I am a real person : ) Want to know more about me and what I'll be doing?

Then please do get in touch. Or come to my studio to look at my work and have a coffee. I am interested to speak to you and divulge any more information you might need.

THANKS SO MUCH
