Help Carling get to the first EVER World Championship in Holland with the Great Britain National Softball team!

My Project

Hi! My name is Carling Hare and I am a member of the Great Britain Women's National Softball Team. I am a pitcher who wears the number 87. I have been a member of the Great Britain National team for 4 years and have competed in 2 European Championships and 1 World Championship. Our team has qualified to compete in the first ever World Championships to be held in Holland this summer from August 15-24. My goal is to reach £ 2000 ($3230 Canadian Dollars). Because I am from Vancouver, Canada, I have to pay for my flight over to Holland and for my accommodations.

This project is so important to myself and my team as we hope to be apart of history while competing at the first EVER World Championship in Europe. Our team comes from all corners of the World and spend countless hours training and preparing for our competitions each summer. The amount of pride and love that I feel for this team is overwhelming. I cannot describe how proud I feel each time I step on the field wearing my Great Britain jersey. By donating to my project, you can bring me a step closer to keep this feeling alive and allow my dream to live on.

The Million Dollar Question

In 2008, softball was dropped as an Olympic sport by the International Olympic Committee. This broke the hearts of countless girls, boys, women and men all over the world. Since then, softball has not been a government funded sport in the UK. Even though it has gained momentum in the UK, softball does not have as much popularity as other countries. Because of this lack of funding, every year our team has had to rely on funds and donations from players, staff, families and donations. Our competitions are never cheap and we are so lucky and grateful to get the opportunities that we do. Because I am an over-seas player (residing in Vancouver, Canada), my costs are exceedingly higher than most due to the cost of flights. I am also a full-time student. By donating, big or small, you can help to bring me one step closer to my dream in competing on the World stage once again.

Any donations are welcome. They can be big or small. Your donations will go to aiding me in paying for my flights and accommodations.

Money Isn't Everything

A BIG Thank-you!

I would like to take a moment to thank-you from the bottom of my heart. I really appreciate you reading my story. As I said, any donations will help my cause. It would mean the world to me to represent Great Britain at this historical competition. By helping me reach my dream, you may be helping to bring softball back to the Olympic stage! Once again, thank-you for your backing and encouragement!
