Researching inclusive education and Special Educational Needs
I'm raising £3000 for a masters degree researching the most effective ways for mainstream secondary schools to provide positive, inclusive education for students with special educational needs.
Conventional lessons can often present barriers to learners with special educational needs which can make it difficult for them to achieve their full potential. I believe that by adapting specific parts of classroom practice we can remove these barriers and facilitate the development of students with special educational needs. What is also brilliant is that most strategies that help children with special educational needs help other children too.
So we can create truly inclusive education that supports the progress of all children and enables students with special educational needs to feel included and in control of their learning.
Who am i?
My name is Lauren Jennings. I am a 30 year old, dyslexic, Sen teaching assistant from Manchester. I am pationate about changing the way we teach to suit our students rather than expecting the students to change to suit the way we teach.
Why am I doing this?
Where will the money go?
All the money I raise will go towards paying university fees for my masters project. Fees for the first year are £1830 and the same again for the second year.
